Movement Intensive Week (ENG)

Do you want to feel more freedom when moving, explore your range of motion, strengthen your unique movement language and expand your authentic expression in daily life? Then this is for you!

YOUR MOVEMENT
IS MEDICINE

In this week you will understand the language of your movement, strengthen your expression, playfully take up space, feel your potential, process emotions with movement, and break limiting patterns/beliefs with specific dance forms.

You will work with your nervous system and specific movement techniques that enhance the felt sense of trust and freedom in your body. Using the embodiment framework, you will learn how to enhance your physical, mental, emotional and energetic well-being through movement. Your movement is your medicine.

This week is for all movement enthusiasts, teachers, and people that are new to movement. We combine psycho-somatic movement, embodiment and breathwork techniques, Jungian psychology, animal flows and various dance styles. 

All levels of dance experience are welcome, yet no experience is needed. 
You’ll start where you are and move beyond where you want to be.

After this week

  • You move with confidence, flow and playfulness.
  • You move with your physical, mental, emotional and energetic body.
  • You move with your unique body language and have expanded your range of motion.
  • You are able to connect, surrender, guide and be guided when moving.
  • You are able to process emotions by using specific movement techniques.
  • You are able to apply these practices in daily life to embody your full potential.

About our movement

We use a combination of breathwork, psycho-somatic movement, embodiment practices, animal flows, the elements, Jungian psychology and various dance styles. Inspired by multiple studies on the nervous system, therapeutic bodywork and 12 years of global dance competition.  

During the training you will understand, experience and apply two frameworks:

THE POLYVAGAL THEORY

Our starting point for intention, range of expression and movement from a nervous system perspective.

THE EMBODIMENT FRAMEWORK

Our anchor to discover the 4 layers within the body, your unique language, nervous system responses and the natural elements in movement.

Movement layers, elements and styles

When we talk about layers and elements, here are examples of movement styles we work with: 

EARTH

Feeling grounded in your body. This physical layer is about trust, confidence and being present. Using gravity, stability, floor work, proprioception, leaps of trust, strength, functional movement.

WATER

Processing feelings with movement. This emotional layer is about giving space and shape to your senses with every cell in your body. Using fluidity, turning, rolling, asymetry, the unexpected and organic movement.

FIRE

Turning resistance into your superpower to create. This layer of power is using muscle tone, pulling, pushing, resistance, popping, locking, density, movement volumes and human designed shapes.

AIR

Strengthening connection and guidance. This layer of acceptance is using gentle breathwork to tune in, surrender and allow what is. Using falling, rising, continuous flow, partner work, expansion vs. contraction.

LIGHT

Embodying visions and inspiration. This layer of creativity is inviting symbols, patterns, archetypes and nervous system anchoring to spark your movement and live your fullest potential in daily life.

  • Friday, November 1st – REST DAY / NO TRAINING
  • Saturday, November 2nd – AIR
  • Sunday, November 3rd – LIGHT
  • Daily from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM
 

Location

  • The big yoga studio at Tree11 in Alkmaar, the Netherlands
  • Parking is free in front of the location
  • Lockers, showers and infrared sauna are available
